Knicks' Robinson slams door on Spurs in OT battle

Basketball Betting Lines

02/17/2009 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Reigning All-Star slam dunk champion Nate Robinson scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the New York Knicks in a 112-107 victory over the Spurs at Madison Square Garden, snapping a seven-game slide to San Antonio.

Robinson finished with 32 points and a career high-tying 10 rebounds in 38 minutes for the Knicks, who snapped a season high-tying six-game losing streak. Wilson Chandler and Chris Duhon scored 17 points apiece, with Duhon adding eight assists. Al Harrington had 11 points and 10 boards.

David Lee recorded his 17th double-double in a row and his 42nd on the season with 13 points and 12 boards in the win.

Tim Duncan got his 33rd double-double of the season with 26 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs, who have dropped two straight games. Roger Mason added 20 points and Tony Parker 14 with seven helpers.

"[The Knicks] shot the ball really well. They attacked the rim really well and Nate [Robinson] came in and gave them a boost," Duncan said.

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili did not travel with the team to New York because of a sore right ankle.

With the game tied and 3:26 left in the extra frame, Robinson poured in a couple of quick baskets to give the Knicks the lead, and Harrington added a layup to make it 110-104 with 1:31 left.

Duncan then hit a free throw and Mason drained a long two to cut it to a one- possession game, 110-107, with 27.5 ticks left. The Spurs failed to pull any closer from there as New York held on for the triumph.

"Everything about this team is great, and I hope we can continue to get better," Robinson said. "Together as a team we rebounded and shared the ball and had fun."

Down by one with 52 seconds left, Lee hit 1-of-2 free throws to tie it up at 100-100.

Duncan then hit a jumper to put the Spurs on top, but Robinson answered with a layup and 20.4 ticks left to tie things again.

The Spurs wound the clock down to 3.1 seconds before the Knicks used their last foul to give.

Michael Finley inbounded to Duncan, whose last-second turnaround jumper caromed off the iron as the teams headed for overtime.

The clubs played to a 27-27 tied after the first quarter but the Knicks grabbed a slight 57-56 advantage at the break.

The teams traded baskets and the lead seesawed throughout the third frame, before it was deadlocked, 77-77, heading into the fourth period.

Buckets from Duncan and Mason gave the Spurs their first lead of the fourth quarter, 88-86, with 7:20 showing on the clock.

Chandler, though, tied it up with a running jumper on New York's next possession.

Parker hit a layup with 1:01 left to play to give the Spurs a 100-99 lead.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.

Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.

Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.

Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com. MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds

With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season.  What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season.  Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all.  Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13).  Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two.  Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury.  Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven.  Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury.  Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.

In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons.  Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4.  Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1).  The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this.  No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.

Just because it is the All-Star break doesn’t mean that you can’t bet on NBA hoops this weekend.  Be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com to bet on who you think will cut down the nets this July.
